As a way of seeing other methods of using wood, I went to see the Carpenters' Line exhibition. The joinery exhibited here was incredible and really showed me how beautiful wooden pieces could be when the time is taken to properly join and finish the pieces. The intiricasy of the joints also stood out to me along with the different woods that had been mixed to really celebrate the wood itself rather than hiding it with paint.

While I love all of these pieces, I think the style is a bit too intricate for a child's toy as it has to be durable. Given more time, however, I would love to explore this style more and maybe look at embedding some of the designs into sheets of wood if durability is important.
